Let's dismantle the idea that knowledge-sharing can only take place in stuffy conference rooms. These spaces were not created with individuals impacted by cancer in mind.

Camp Breastie Fundraising Update

Illustration

Camp Breastie is an extensive event that costs nearly $1,000 per Camper to put on. As a nonprofit, we rely on the generous support of donors and sponsors to make our programs and events possible.
In the spirit of radical transparency, we are deeply committed to ensuring our events are accessible for all, which is why registration for Camp Breastie is BELOW our at-cost rate. At The Breasties, we strongly believe that financial constraints should never be a barrier to accessing support.
Our goal is to make Camp Breastie FREE for all Breasties to attend, which is why we launched our fundraising campaign, “No Breastie Left Behind,” at the end of 2023. Our goal remains the same — to raise $125,000 to cover the ticket price for all Campers. Although this amount of funding doesn’t cover the $1,000 per Camper, reaching this fundraising goal will allow us to offer as many free tickets as needed in a way that is sustainable for the organization.

Camp is quickly approaching, and although fundraising is ongoing, we have yet to reach our goal. At this point, we’ve fundraised enough to fund 80 Breasties to attend Camp Breastie for FREE. The Breasties is committed to accessibility - so we are matching this number (and then some). At this time, we are able to provide 200 FREE no-cost tickets for the community. We are working tremendously hard behind the scenes to continue to fundraise, and we hope to be able to offer no-cost tickets for as many Breasties who need it.
In recognition of differing financial positions, we're offering several ways to register for Camp: a $500-ticket and $250-ticket, as well as the option to apply for a no-cost ticket.
You’re also able to add a donation at check-out, in addition to your ticket price, encouraging a pay-what-you-can model for this event.
*All ticketing price points will provide you the same Camp Breastie experience.*

$500 ticket

Think of the $500 price-point as a buy one give one! This will register you for Camp, and contribute to the “No Breastie Left Behind” fund – opening up a no-cost ticket for another Breastie.

$250 ticket

We are also happy to offer a community-rate ticket option for $250 to secure your ticket to Camp.

NO-COST TICKET

If the cost of registration is a barrier, we currently have no cost tickets available for 200 Breasties. These tickets will be granted on a first-come first-serve basis, and are reserved for those who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, stage 4, and in need of financial-assistance.

Choose Your Own Adventure

We know firsthand that when you’re impacted by cancer it can often feel like you lose all of your options and autonomy. That's why it’s important to us that Camp Breastie is a "choose your own adventure” experience.

Whether you’re looking for a retreat immersed in nature, seeking information from experts and advocates, or wanting to challenge your mind and body through movement and art — you choose what best meets your unique needs.

Each day at Camp Breastie, community members build their own schedules by selecting from a wide range of educational panels, breakout sessions, workshops, meetups, activities, and more.

panels + workshops

Panels at Camp Breastie bring together experts, industry leaders, advocates, and researchers to truly discuss topics most important to the community. Speakers will break down the latest in breast and gynecologic cancer, while also diving deep into real experiences of the community related to sex and intimacy. These panels speak to the unique experiences of all community members, and prove that knowledge sharing can take place beyond stuffy conference rooms.

movement + mindfulness

At Camp Breastie, we pride ourselves on working closely with movement and mindfulness experts who understand the unique experiences that come from a diagnosis or surgery, to offer intentional programs for all. Whether you’re looking to do a morning cold plunge in the lake, mastectomy-friendly yoga, a high intensity workout or sleep in – there’s quite literally something for everyone.

activities

Fertility, IVF, cancer genetics, entrepreneurship, plant-based cooking, writing workshops, and spiritual healing were just some of the many breakout sessions available at last year’s Camp Breastie. This year, you can expect to see some familiar breakouts return (and expand!) as well as new ones around community-driven topics.

breastival

Breastival is a festival-style event where attendees come together on the last night of Camp to celebrate community, being alive, inclusivity, and self-expression. At Breastival, you'll find a live DJ, food trucks, mocktails, interactive art installations, photobooths, light shows, vendors, and plenty of good vibes!

After hosting small retreats in various cities around the U.S., we knew we had to find a bigger place where we could bring hundreds of community members together at the same time. Enter: Camp Breastie!
This mega retreat of sorts helps break down the idea that knowledge-sharing can only take place in stuffy conference rooms. We believe that by coming together as individuals, we can create an environment that encourages meaningful interactions and facilitates an inclusive community for all.
Don't be afraid to come without knowing anyone — we encourage it! We promise to create intentional opportunities for meeting other Breasties as soon as you step onto the Camp Breastie grounds!

  • Why does this cost money?

Camp Breastie is a massive event that costs the organization more than $500+ per head to put on. As a nonprofit, we rely on the support of donors and sponsors to make our events possible — and to keep them accessible for all.
We are deeply committed to ensuring our events are as accessible as possible, which is why registration for Camp Breastie is BELOW our act-cost rate.
Our goal is to make Camp Breastie FREE for all Breasties to attend, which is why we launched our fundraising campaign, “No Breastie Left Behind,” at the end of 2023. Our goal remains the same — to raise $125,000 to cover the ticket price for all Campers. Camp is quickly approaching, and although fundraising is ongoing, we have yet to reach our goal. That said, because of the generous support of donors, we’ve fundraised enough to fund 80 Breasties to attend Camp Breastie for FREE. The Breasties is committed to matching this number, to provide 200 no-cost tickets for the community. We are working tremendously hard behind the scenes to continue to fundraise, and we hope to be able to offer additional no-cost tickets for Breasties to attend.

  • What is the difference between the two price-points for tickets?

In recognition of the diverse financial situations many of us face, we're excited to offer two price points ($500 and $250). You’re also able to add a donation at check-out, encouraging a pay-what-you-can model for this event.
Think of the $500 price-point as a buy one give one! This will secure your ticket to Camp, and contribute to the “No Breastie Left Behind” fund and open up a no-cost ticket for another Breastie.
The Breasties is happy to offer a community-rate ticket option for $250.

Both options are available to all Breasties and attendees and will provide you the same Camp experience. If the cost of registration is a barrier, we have no-cost tickets available. It is our priority to ensure that Camp is accessible to the entire community!

  • I can't afford Camp. How can I attend?

At The Breasties, we strongly believe that financial constraints should never be a barrier to accessing support. You can apply for a Camp Breastie no-cost ticket here

"At 23, most people my age have other priorities ... the Breasties has been the community I've clicked best with; and the only one I've felt like I truly belong in. The fact that all LGBT+ members, not just cis women, are openly welcomed has felt like such a huge relief."

- Previvor, 23

"Camp prepared me to advocate for other Latinx survivors and people of color going through a gynecological cancer diagnosis."

- Survivor, 25

"I was able to connect with others, especially those stage 4 breasties. There’s no one who gets it better than the others who are on the same journey as you."

- Thriver, 34

"I attended thanks to the BIPOC scholarship and I'm beyond grateful, again thank you so much for this! My travel costs (from overseas) were big so I wouldn't have been able to attend otherwise."

- Survivor, 44

"The opportunity to come to Camp Breastie changed my life. Before this camp I literally had no real life friends who had been through this under the age of 40. It changed lives and gave an unrepresented group a place to just be."
